I’ve always been an avid reader, but this year, I committed to reading 2-3 books per month. I even started a book club this past October. Here’s a list of my 2024 reads. From personal development to fiction novels, I have you covered.
Non-fiction
- The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin Sharma is a fabulous fable that inspires you to live authentically, courageously, and joyfully. My greatest takeaway was the “Ten Rituals of Radiant Living.”
- In her memoir Becoming, Michelle Obama walks us through her journey from a young girl raised on the south side of Chicago (my hometown) to becoming the First Lady of the United States and wife to former President Barack Obama.
- Whether you are religious or spiritual, Crazy Faith: It’s Only Crazy Until It Happens by Michael Todd will inspire you to believe in yourself.
- From life lessons to vegan recipes, Auntie Tabitha Brown shares her warmth and wisdom with us in her first bestseller, Feeding the Soul. This book feels like a warm hug.
- Don Miguel Ruiz will forever be an author in my arsenal. I appreciate his knowledge and writing style. Overcome self-limiting beliefs in The Four Agreements. Gain a better understanding of love and where it begins in The Mastery of Love. Create a better relationship with yourself in The Circle of Fire.
Fiction
- Rich in culture and emotion, Black Cake is an amazing story and is now a streaming Hulu series. I’d suggest reading the book first.
- Freida McFadden is another well-kept author in my arsenal because I love a good thrill! The Coworker, The Inmate, and my book club’s FIRST read, The Boyfriend, will keep you on the edge of your page.
- Another thriller with an amazing plot is The Perfect Marriage.
- I don’t think I’ve ever read a book as sexy as this: Praise. Enjoy with caution.
- Another sexy love tale, Birthday Girl.
- Coming in HOT, my all-time favorite novel is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. So far, I’ve read this twice and plan to read it once every new year. Prepare to be SHOCKED!!! I thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. 10/10.
- I’d never had a favorite character until reading Queenie. I made sure to read the book before watching the series on Hulu.
- Admission is a dramatic yet entertaining read.
With love,
